November 20 ------ Singer-actor Ronnie Liang announced that his foundation, Project Ngiti, is now offering free cataract surgery for patients of all ages, expanding its existing medical assistance program that has long supported children with cleft lip and palate.

Liang told select members of the press on Tuesday, Nov. 18, that the project has already provided free cataract operations to “more or less 100 patients” and has helped “500 children with cleft lip” since it began. The actor-singer encouraged Filipinos nationwide to reach out if they or their relatives need cataract treatment. “Free na rin po. Pati po ‘yung lente or amin ‘yung lens na ilalagay sa mata free na rin po,” he said.

Liang added that consultations and operations are done at San Fernando General Hospital in Pampanga. “Kahit taga saan po kayo, let us know po. I-message lang kami sa Facebook, kukunin ‘yung number tsaka ‘yung name then kokontakin namin sila para i-schedule for check-up, kung pasok sila. Walang age limit,” he stated.

Amid the new initiative, Liang also released his rendition of Jose Mari Chan’s “Perfect Christmas,” with all revenues to be donated to Project Ngiti. He said the song aims to uplift listeners amid ongoing challenges and to reinforce the true meaning of the season. “Kaya ako nag-release ng song para maka-contribute naman kahit konti na makapagsend ng good vibes this Christmas season,” he expressed. “May corruption, bagyo, and lindol. At least ang message ng song is that Christmas is not only about material things, but spending time with your loved ones,” added the singer.

Liang dedicated the song to Filipinos who continue working even during the holidays. “Iyon ang pinaka-essence ng Christmas. And gusto kong i-dedicate ‘yun sa lahat ng mga OFWs, mga may trabaho na malayo sa pamilya, mga sundalo, pulis, call center agents. Kahit holiday, hindi sila makauwi. In the name of service. In the name of duty,” explained the actor.
