MANILA, Philippines, September 16 ------ Original Pilipino Music (OPM) singer Zack Tabudlo believes that losing in a competition is not the end of a dream.
In an interview with the media during "The Voice Kids" press conference, Zack opened up on his journey losing in "The Voice Kids." The then 12-year-old Zack was under the mentorship of Bamboo Manalac in 2014, but could not get past the Battle Rounds of the competition. “I thought my dream was over. Iyak ako nang iyak. I told my father I didn’t want to sing anymore,” Zack said. Zack, however, continued to do music, turning his pain into inspiration. “It was a starting point and motivated me to strive harder,” he recalled.
Years later, Zack became the most-streamed solo male artist on Spotify in 2022 and 2023 with hits "Binibini," "Paano," and "Habang Buhay." “I’m a coach who used to be in our contestants’ shoes. That’s why I always tell them that it doesn’t really matter if you win or lose in this competition. If your coach could do it, you definitely can, too,” he said. “You will never know what the future holds unless you try. So don’t ever stop. Everything is possible — in the right time,” he added.
Zack hopes to impart lessons as one of the new coaches of the kiddie reality singing competition "The Voice Kids." Zack is not the only new coach introduced in the new season as he joins Ben&Ben twins Paolo and Miguel Guico. Returning as coaches are Julie Anne San Jose and Billy Crawford.
