January 28 ------ Reigning Miss Globe Chayathanus “Cheraim” Saradatta appealed for sobriety from the international pageant community amid the growing toxicity among fans from different countries. “I think being proud of your country is very good. But also, I think you see a diversity from all around the world gives us a nice chance to open our hearts to new friends,” she responded to Inquirer Entertainment‘s question at her recent media event.
The Thai queen arrived in Manila on her birthday, Jan. 25, for her first official visit to the Philippines as the reigning Miss Globe. She faced members of the media at World Kitchens at the Gateway Mall 2 at the Araneta City in Quezon City the day after. “Maybe, instead of looking forward to win, we can embrace all the beauties and everything around the world. You can cheer for your country, but also cheer for the others as well,” Cheraim said.
The Miss Globe Vice President, Frenki Bozo, who came with her to the country, echoed this appeal from his reigning queen for the global pageant community to exercise restraint when supporting their respective delegates. “We celebrate diversity, culture, identity, and humanity, because despite our differences, we are all standing together on the same globe,” he said in his speech.
Also saying that “one of the strongest examples of this shared vision is our long and beautiful collaboration with Bb. Pilipinas,” Bozo announced the renewed partnership between The Miss Globe and the national organization. “We entered the 12th year right now, and I’m very happy to officially announce that we will extend this collaboration for three more years. That is officially, because unofficially, I think this will last a lifetime,” he said.
Welcoming Cheraim and Bozo to the Philippines are Bb. Pilipinas queens–The Miss Globe 2021 Maureen Montagne, The Miss Globe runners-up Jasmin Bungay and Anna Lakrini, Bb. Pilipinas International Katrina Anne Johnson, and Bb. Pilipinas first runner-up Dalia Varde Khattab. The Thai beauty queen is currently in the Asian leg of her global tour that already brought her to Nepal and Vietnam. BPCI has prepared a series of tours and charity events for her Manila visit, which will run until Jan. 29.
