MANILA, Philippines, June 26 ------ SB19 has joined the roster of United Talent Agency (UTA), placing the Filipino quintet alongside internationally acclaimed artists such as Bad Bunny, Cardi B and Christina Aguilera as the group gears up for historic performances in the United States and Japan.
The Los Angeles-based agency announced the signing on Instagram, saying it has signed the "multi-award-winning, chart-topping Filipino music group" for "global representation in all areas, including live touring and brand partnerships." "Since their debut in 2018, SB19 has become one of the most influential acts in Southeast Asian music, amassing over one billion career streams and cultivating a passionate global fanbase known as 'A'TIN,'" UTA said. The agency also highlighted the group's latest album, Wakas at Simula, which features the single "Visa."
UTA pointed to SB19's trailblazing accomplishments on the global stage, noting that the group was the first Southeast Asian and Filipino act nominated in the Top Social Artist category at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards. It also cited the group's history-making Billboard achievements, saying SB19 became "the first Filipino act to chart on the international Billboard Social 50 and Next Big Sound charts, as well as land at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Trending Songs with 'Bazinga' in 2021," followed by the hit "GENTO."
The agency also acknowledged the group's upcoming international engagements, noting that "this summer, the group makes history as the first homegrown Filipino act ever booked to perform at Lollapalooza, alongside a slot at Summer Sonic." UTA ended its announcement with a simple message to the group, "Welcome to the family."
The “Kings of P-Pop" are scheduled to perform at the Grammy Museum's Global Spin Live in Los Angeles on July 28 before heading to Chicago, where it will make history as the first homegrown Filipino act to perform at Lollapalooza on July 30 at Grant Park. The group will then travel to Japan for performances at Summer Sonic on Aug. 14 in Osaka and Aug. 15 in Tokyo.
