Katrina Halili, Angel Guardian named best actresses at Japan excellence awards

MANILA, Philippines, June 26 ------ GMA-7 stars Katrina Halili and Angel Guardian added another milestone to their careers after bagging acting awards at the World Class Excellence Japan Awards (WCEJA).

Katrina was recognized as Best Actress for her performance in the TV series "Mommy Dearest," while Angel was honored for her work in “Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre.” Katrina thanked her family, friends, management team, colleagues, and supporters, especially ex-partner Kris Lawrence and their daughter Katie for standing by her throughout her career. “First Best Actress Award mula sa World Class Excellence Japan Awards. Isang malaking karangalan po ito para sa akin bilang artista at bilang isang taong patuloy na nagsisikap na pag-butihin ang aking craft,” she wrote on Instagram. “Ang parangal na ito ay hindi lamang para sa akin, kundi para sa lahat ng naniwala at patuloy na naniniwala sa akin,” she added.

Angel played Deia, one of the new generations of Sang'gres (royal bloods) in the GMA-7 telefantasya. The actress is happy with her nomination, which she sees as an acknowledgement of her work as an actor. "Hopefully, this is the first of many," Angel wrote on Instagram.

The World Class Excellence Japan Awards is a Japan-based recognition program that honors outstanding achievers from various fields, including entertainment, public service, business, and philanthropy.
