‘PBB’ housemate Carmelle Collado to rep Philippines at Eurovision Asia

MANILA, Philippines, September 1 ------ Carmelle Collado bested nine other finalists to earn the right to represent the Philippines at the inaugural Eurovision Song Contest Asia.

The former "Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0" housemate won with her upbeat track "Sobra-Sobra," composed by Nica del Rosario and Mat Olavides.

The Philippine Selection Night was hosted by Vice Ganda and held at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City on Sunday, August 30. The runners-up were "Mapadama," sung by JM dela Cerna and Marielle Montellano, and "Broken Beyond Repair," performed by SAGA.

The winner was determined through a professional jury (40%), the Philippine public vote (40%) and the Rest of the World vote (20%).

Carmelle was the grand champion of "Tawag ng Tanghalan: The School Showdown" in 2025. She also competed in the 2019 edition of "The Voice Kids Philippines," where she finished as first runner-up. Her other songs include the catchy single "Morena."

The other Philippine finalists were "Between Bituin" by DNA; "Cheri(e)" by Elha Nympha, Esang de Torres, Lance Reblando and Nar Cabico; "Di Yan (Red Flag)" by Jason Dy and Sassa Dagdag; "Good For You" by Ryssi Avila; "Make It Exist" by AJAA; "Reason to Live" by KHIMO; and "Round N' Round" by VVINK and WRIVE Russu.

The first Eurovision Song Contest Asia will be staged in Bangkok, Thailand, on November 14.
