September 19 ------ Pop Diva Kuh Ledesma shared that singer-composer Maegan Aguilar is recovering and finding normalcy in life. She appealed to the public to give her a chance. "I would like to ask the people to give Maegan a chance. She's the kind of person who has been through so much," said Kuh when she talked about Maegan during a Zoom session for her upcoming concert, 'I Love OPM #angNatatangingGetaway' at Hacienda Isabella in Indang, Cavite, on Sept. 23.
Kuh stated that Maegan has faced numerous challenges but is willing to improve. "So nalihis siya ng landas. But I believe she's good enough that she's willing to change, and very much so, I believe that God is on her side, especially kung tutulungan natin siya. Mas ma-i-inspired natin siya to continue her artistry. "Isa pa naman siyang compositor. Sayang! Maraming mga composers and artists na nagkakaproblema sa drugs and some of them have died kasi walang tumulong sa kanila. I wish that I was already a Christian when my other very close friend na musikero rin got into drugs. A musician I know was into drugs before when another close friend of mine helped this person. He was able to bounce back. "Satan is creating havoc in people's lives, destroying families and young people's lives. Maraming nagpapakamatay because families are broken. If my family is not together yet, I'm believing and believing for, you know, restoration because that is God's will. But is God's time yet, or will it ever happen? Only God knows. "God's will be done. Pero maraming broken family. And kakaunti pa naman ang psychotherapist, kakaunti lang ang makakatulong na walang bayad kasi ang mga bayad sa ganyan mahal. So paano yung mga mahihirap? And then, there's the problem of human trafficking. Yung mga places of prostitution na-lu-lure nila yung girls na maging prostitutes," said Kuh.
Kuh talked about the struggles of Maegan, one of five children of legendary OPM singer Freddie Aguilar. "Marami siyang challenges like problem with her goiter, other health problems. Kasi inabuso nya yung katawan niya eh. Pero she's getting healed. Mas maaliwalas na yung mukha niya. "I put her in the show because she wanted to share a new composition called 'Ama.' Ang ganda ng kanta. It's my way of encouraging her kasi parang nasa sanctuary lang siya at yung lang ang ginagawa niya. "She went through a lot. Sabi niya she used to sleep in the streets. Kasi wala siyang mapuntahan. Naiintindihan ko yung ganyang buhay eh. Lalo na yung nag-umpisang Christian tapos nalihis. I've been a Christian for years and I understand the process that God allows in the life of Christians only for us to learn more about holiness, malinis na buhay. "Mapapalo muna tayo minsan para tumino eh, di ba? Ako napalo ako sobra. Pero mabilis akong mag. catch up. I'm not afraid of that kasi kaya kong kausapin si Maegan and I believe she is a good person and desires to have a better life like all of us. "So I've been telling Maegan, 'sundin mo lang yung sinasabi ng Diyos, alam ko na ibe-blessed ka niya uli. She's very receptive. I feel the change in her," the OPM icon said.
Kuh recalled she met Maegan when she was in her 20s. The "Till I Met You" singer said she plans for Maegan to reunite with her father "but not now." She urged Maegan to apologize to Sen. Raffy Tulfo, who wanted to help her. Earlier, Maegan slammed Tulfo when she tested positive during a drug test conducted by the Raffy Tulfo In Action team. "Sabi ko bumalik ka kay Tulfo at mag-sorry ka sa kanya. I know nakakahiya yung mga ginawa mo pero that's nothing to be ashamed about dahil napako na ni Lord yung lahat ng kahihiyan na ginawa natin sa cross kaya wala na tayong dapat ikahiya na."
