October 10 ------ Days after announcing that they are back together as a couple, Katrina Halili and Kris Lawrence are taking things slow this time, with their daughter Katie as their topmost priority.

Speaking to entertainment reporters for the first time since their admission that they are again in a relationship, Halili and Lawrence said that while they are enjoying their second go at romance, they have not yet really discussed marriage and having a wedding. But that does not mean that Lawrence is not thinking of the future in that direction.

“To be honest, I do have a vision of where we’re gonna go, but I think I’m gonna keep that to myself. I’ve always been a man of acton and less talk, but I do have a vision of where we are going,” he said during a talk with reporters on the sidelines of their latest endorsement project for a wellness brand.

Halili, for her part, said that while she had famously said that she is done with love, uttering that “past is past,” she was able to see how Lawrence has changed for the better and fell in love with this version of him who is more responsible and thoughtful, more mature outlook in life. “Talagang pinakita naman ni Kris na alam na nya ang gusto nyang gawin, kaya naman naramdaman namin ni Katie ang pag aalaga nya,” she said, adding that she now appreciates Lawrence’s leadership as “padre de pamilya.” “Ipinakita nya na kaya nya akong i-lead.”

Lawrence said that because he wanted to protect what they have now, they are more intentional in their life choices and even in the food that they eat and activities that they undertake. “Through experiences we learned where we want to go… I made many bad choices in life, so I know not to make those bad choices anymore. The only way from there is up, so I continued in that direction. Twelve years later, nag-reconnect kami at this level and we got to know the new versions of ourselves,” said Lawrence.

‘Divine alignment’

Now that they have finally reignited their love for one another, the most logical path for the couple would be one where they would say their vows, but both are careful not to rush things and are simply content to being people in love who are relearning things about themselves.

Lawrence, for his part, said that while they previously went their separate ways, they never really lost the spark. And when it happened, he said that everything just fell into place — like “divine alignment.” “Honestly, it just happened but when we noticed it just happened, everything just fell into place, you kinda don’t fight it… I just love her (Halili) and once you love someone evrything just falls into place. You put her and Katie before yourself. I think she felt that” Lawrence said.

The singer-actor’s statement made the Kapuso actress to blush and say that this was her “Disney Princess” moment, to mean that she now has someone protecting her and taking care of her. At that time, Anna Magkawas, founder and CEO of the brand they are endorsing was seated between them, and quipped, “Yung buhok mo naapakan ko, ang haba.” “Aray!” the actress screamed in jest. “Naramdaman natin na naging Disney princess tayo.”

Katie as ‘bridge’

Halili also bared that it was Katie who acted as sort of a bridge for her and Lawrence. In their vlogs, Katie would ask them to do certain tasks that eventually allowed them to reconnect. “Si Katie yung inask ko kung sasagutin ko na ba ang papa nya. Sabi nya yes,” she said. “Happy naman kase mas madali na lahat, mas maayos.” This is why Halili said that they have jointly invested in purchasing a property in Antipolo. When pressed if they had any plans about getting married, Halili and Lawrence said that the public would know as they are very transparent with their relationship.
