October 9 ------ For Gerald Anderson, success in business is not just about earning money. The actor-athlete said he takes pride in seeing his ventures grow while providing livelihoods for the people who work with him.

Anderson, who has expanded his career into business through his resort and gym ventures, said one of the most rewarding parts of becoming an entrepreneur is seeing how his businesses can positively affect the lives of others. “More than just the business and the money side, It feels really good that I’m able to provide jobs,” Anderson said during a recent press conference.

He admitted, however, that it hasn’t always been easy, particularly as he continues to balance entrepreneurship with his acting career. “Sometimes you reach a point where you feel like you can’t do it anymore, but once you get there, you just say, ‘OK, I’ll fight this.’ You know, perseverance. So, I also matured as a businessman, and I know what I want,” he said.

For Anderson, those challenges have also contributed to his growth as a businessman. He said experience has taught him to remain patient and persistent when things do not go according to plan. Despite his growing business interests, Anderson remains clear about the importance of his entertainment career, which led to the opportunities he has received. “At the end of the day, everything I’m able to do is because of my career as a celebrity. And that’s my priority. I take care of my work,” he said.

These experiences have also influenced the way Anderson approaches his work as a brand ambassador. Rather than treating endorsements as commercial partnerships, he said he prefers to work with products that fit naturally into his lifestyle and that he can genuinely use. This approach led to his continued partnership with Greenfield Tools, which Anderson said has become particularly useful in his resorts and other activities. He has used the company’s generators at his resorts in Zambales to keep operations running during brownouts. “For the last two years, our guests haven’t felt the brownouts. They really didn’t experience them. That’s the power of Greenfield,” he shared.

Wayne Coherco, executive vice president, chief operating officer and vice president of Herco Trading Inc., the official distributor and owner of Greenfield Tools in the Philippines, said Anderson’s business ventures and active lifestyle made him a natural choice for the partnership. “More than the celebrity endorsement, we wanted him to represent Greenfield because we believe that his lifestyle is really a good fit for the brand,” Coherco said. “He’s active, hands-on, and someone who is involved in a lot of different projects and activities. And we wanted someone who we thought could genuinely connect with Greenfield,” he added.

For Anderson, that connection is important because he wants his endorsements to reflect products that he can incorporate into his everyday life. “I’m very happy because this is one of the partnerships that we’re going to keep. It’s really my lifestyle, and I’m very proud that the products are different. I really use them when I go home or to my resort,” he said. Anderson said he approaches both his business ventures and endorsements with gratitude, recognizing that his career has given him opportunities to pursue interests outside acting. “I work from a place of gratitude. So, whenever there’s an opportunity, I’m always thankful,” he finally said.
