Julia Montes, Alden Richards to star in new movie

MANILA, April 19 ------ Julia Montes and Alden Richards are headlining the upcoming movie “Five Break-Ups and a Romance.”

The movie written and directed by Irene Villamor was announced on Tuesday at a media conference held at a hotel in Quezon City.

Then siyempre honored and happy ako to work with him. That's why Alden Richards is Alden Richards. Ngayon alam ko na kung bakit," Montes said of her leading man. "Na-excite ako with the idea of me being paired with Julia kasi I know how brilliant of an actress she is. So hindi rin ako natakot to give my all in this film," Richards said. "I think this is a start of a really good friendship and a really good working with relationship with her.

According to Villamor, she really wanted to work with Richards and Montes, whom she praised for their acting prowess.

Not their personal whatever, but it's really the brilliance and performance. 'Yung chemistry 'yon naman ang iwo-work on. First reading pa lang namin ay

ang saya ko na. Sabi ko nga may input na agad sila tapos nagre-revise na ako based on how they read it so napaganda ang material. Feeling ko ha," Villamor said.

The director said the upcoming film tackles the complications of a relationship.

"Ito mas nag-dwell ako sa relasyon, gaano ba kakumplikado, gaano ba kahirap and then gaano ba kasarap 'yung relasyon kaya siya five break-ups. Try natin manakit ng limang beses. ...This is about Justine and Lance na parehong strong people, mas complex na relasyon," Villamor said.

Back in December, Montes said in an interview that she planned to become more active in terms of acting this 2023.

Montes was last seen on television when she starred with her long-time rumored boyfriend Coco Martin in "FPJ's Ang Probinsyano." The series ended last year.
