Joaquin Arce wants to prove himself before acting alongside Angel Locsin

July 28 ------ Even Joaquin Arce is shocked by Angel Locsin ending her social media hiatus just to wish him luck on his showbiz career. However, Arce said that he wanted to prove himself as an actor before sharing the spotlight with his award-winning stepmom.

After a three-year social media hiatus, Locsin made headlines after showing her support for Arce’s showbiz debut in an Instagram Story on July 24. In the post, she said that she is looking forward to working with him “soon.” When asked about the possibility of working with the actress, Arce said he wants to develop his abilities and prove himself as an actor before “earning the right” to work with Locsin.

“What can I say about her working with me? Right now, I can’t say for sure whether we’ll have a project or not, but maybe, if I act well enough, I’ll get on her level,” he said during a contract signing event with Star Magic. Arce added that once he feels ready, he would have the confidence to act alongside Locsin. “Maybe someday, I’ll have the right to work with Ms. Angel. I need to prove myself first,” he said.

In a short interview with reporters after the contract signing, Arce admitted that he was shocked and grateful to be publicly supported by Locsin. “Actually, she did not say that she would repost the announcement,” he said, touching on her Instagram Story. “I was just scrolling on Instagram when it popped out while I was checking my Instagram feed. I, too, was shocked. She broke her silence just to repost my launch. I’m so grateful for her… she told me she will be watching my contract signing.”
