April 5 ------ Kapamilya star Belle Mariano started her career as one of the promising young actresses known for her charm and acting skills at an early stage. Now that she has become one of the brightest names in the industry, Belle spoke about adulting and the pressure that comes with life and career choices.
In the debut episode of ABS-CBN News, Oh My Gan! by reporter Ganiel Krishnan, Belle shared her insights on her journey to adulthood. “Scary ang adulting kasi feeling ko na I’m at that stage na I should take life seriously, but at the same time have fun,” Belle said. She added, “There’s a pressure na parang, ‘oh my God, where will this direction take me?’ May pressure on that stage na that I have to work hard and do my best and strive since I'm at that age pero I have to enjoy and take a step back sometimes just to have a balance.”
Looking back on her journey, Belle shared what challenges she encountered making a name for herself in the ever-changing entertainment industry. “I feel like it never ends naman. You are paving your way na parang there's always this fear in me if I fall, like paano kung mag fail ito. May takot talaga na parang no one is perfect na parang natatakot, paano if hindi mag work ito. Like, let's say if I’m portraying a role, what if hindi maayos yung pagkakagawa ko?” Belle shared her doubts. She added, “Pero, by the end, you have to remind yourself na why did you do this and more than takot na pangugunahan ka, dapat mas maging motivation mo sya to try harder.”
Belle also spoke about facing failures and being just like other people, sometimes feeling not okay. “I mean, like in every journey, you will encounter a lot of failures, and being in front of the camera, people think that you're okay, you're smiling, you're all good. But at the end of the day, we are also just humans; we also go through things. Just remind yourself that it's okay to fall, but don't prolong it in that state. ‘Wag mong tambayan, and remember na you can rise above those things, nadadapa kami, tao kasi kami, but we'll do our best to rise up again,” Belle stated.
Being in the industry for a long time, Belle said she wants to leave a good legacy, especially for those who look up to her. “Since I'm an ate being in the industry, I obviously want to put something good out there. I wanna be a good role model. Parang every time I'm at that state, parang I always question myself (na if I) am I doing the right thing? Tama ba ‘to?” she said, as she described it as the hardest question that she has asked herself. “It's the best but hardest question. Help as much as I can. Sa akin naman, I wanna help. I initiate (it).”
As Belle is preparing for her and Donny Pangilinan’s comeback film, the Kapamilya star expressed what she wanted to prioritize for this year. “More of my growth. Growth both outside showbiz and in showbiz ‘cause I feel like parang with the pacing of everything parang my time na (sabi ko), ‘Wait. I need to actually take a pause and it’s okay.’ It’s okay to acknowledge na sometimes we really need to take a step back to check on ourselves, and that's just self-care. So maybe that just prioritizes my health more.”
