MANILA, July 25 ------ Actress Janine Gutierrez expressed her gratitude to be part of award-winning director Lav Diaz’s movie “Phantosmia,” which would premiere in the 81st Venice Fim Festival.
On Instagram, Gutierrez said it was a dream come true that their film made it to Venice. It's an official Out of the Competition entry. The actress also thanked Diaz's team and everyone who trusted her to be part of the movie. "Super dream come true - our film, Lav Diaz’s 'Phantosmia', will premiere at this year’s La Biennale di Venezia. Sooooo grateful and happy and honored to be part of this film!!! Venice has always been a dream and I’m just, again, so grateful to the Lavteam and to everyone else who’s trusted me enough to cast me in their films and series," Gutierrez wrote. "All I’ve ever wanted is to make good projects and I’m just so thankful that all the work has led me here, part of another story that showcases our Filipino filmmaking to the world 🤍 Thank you thank you thank you," she added.
Gutierrez is part of ABS-CBN's upcoming series "Lavender Fields" with Jodi Sta. Maria and actor Jericho Rosales, who also congratulated her for "Phantosmia." "I am over the moon for you! Ihanda na ang bangka at sagwan! Congratulations!!! 🚣🏻 Mabuhay kayo at ang Lavteam! 🥂 🍾🙌🏽," Rosales wrote in the comment section of Gutierrez's post.
