Janine Gutierrez vows constant support for Jericho Rosales amid family struggles

July 9 ------ Janine Gutierrez vowed to always stand by Jericho Rosales as he faces recent challenges involving his family—just as he has always been there to support her in similar difficult circumstances.

The actress extended his congratulatory greetings to her actor boyfriend, who recently won the Best Actor award at the 9th Entertainment Editors’ Choice Awards (The Eddys) for his performance in “Quezon.” “Congratulations! I’m so happy for him,” she said on the sidelines of the Cinemalaya 2026 media conference.

While Gutierrez was not physically present to support Rosales because she was out of the country during the awards ceremony, the actor honored her in his acceptance speech for being one of the sources of his strength and for “holding [his] hand.” He also dedicated his win to his mother who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. “Medyo literal ‘yung kwento na ‘yon kasi may time na nagprosthetics siya—binuhusan ng prosthetics ‘yung mukha niya so natatakot siya kaya literal na nakahawak ako [sa kamay niya],” Gutierrez shared.

“But I’m grateful kasi hindi niya ako nakakalimutan sa mga pagpapasalamat niya,” she added.
