Heart Evangelista wows Kevin Kwan with gala night look

August 2 ------ “Crazy Rich Asians” author Kevin Kwan could not help but be in awe of Heart Evangelista as she radiated elegance in the recently held GMA Gala Night.

The actress donned a shimmering black plunging dress with butterfly sleeves from Ashi Studio, as seen in a series of photos and video on her Instagram page yesterday, July 31. Evangelista attended the event with her husband, Sen. Chiz Escudero.

Kwan, who named Evangelista as a real-life “crazy rich Asian,” expressed his admiration of the actress by leaving a comment on her post. “Wow,” he wrote, to which she replied, “I miss you.”

Evangelista and Kwan are friends and have since collaborated on the 2018 “Crazy Rich Asians” feature for the magazine Harper’s Bazaar. Evangelista also disclosed that she auditioned for the character of Araminta Lee in the said film, the role which was given to Japanese-British actress Sonoya Mizuno.

Kwan then later revealed to Evangelista that he requested her audition on the film. Meanwhile, Evangelista’s fellow Filipino actress Kris Aquino became part of the film’s cast and portrayed the role of Princess Intan.
