October 27 ------ Actress and singer Alexa Ilacad knows what it’s like to grow up under the spotlight. Starting her career at just eight years old on the kiddie sketch show “Goin’ Bulilit,” Ilacad has since evolved into one of her generation’s most versatile stars — known for her breakout roles in “The Killer Bride,” “Run to Me,” and “Pira-Pirasong Paraiso,” as well as her rising music career that showcases her soulful vocals and emotional songwriting.

Now, the young star brings her authenticity and self-assured energy to the fashion front as Uniqlo’s newest local celebrity partner for its Bra Top collection, a line designed to deliver seamless comfort, confidence, and built-in support for women navigating busy, modern lives. “Especially growing up in front of the camera as a former child actress, I was very conscious about my looks. People tend to compare and pit you against your peers and sometimes you can’t help but do the same. It’s an ongoing battle but time gives you strength and wisdom to handle things better,” Ilacad shared during Uniqlo’s exclusive panel discussion with host Bianca Gonzalez-Intal and stylist Kat Cruz-Villanueva.

For Ilacad, the Bra Top is all about ease and empowerment and not just another piece of clothing. “With our hectic schedule, we have to move fast so it does help when you have to wear something that’s easy to put on,” she said. “Now, if this clothing also makes you feel good and not just look good then that’s a huge difference, and I have experienced this with Uniqlo Bra Top. When I put it on, I get to just focus on my work because I know my body is secure and I feel comfortable,” she continued.

The panel centered on the theme of “effortless support,” highlighting how women empower themselves and each other through confidence, comfort, and connection — values embodied by Uniqlo’s Bra Top line. Cruz-Villanueva echoed the sentiment, saying the collection makes both her styling work and her personal style easier. “When I am wearing it, I don’t calculate my moves. I feel free. It’s also very easy to mix and match. So, when I have some styling gigs, I always include the Bra Tops because they look good and models love them,” she said.

The discussion underscored Uniqlo’s mission to help women feel supported in every part of their lives. Jan Jizelle Ang, Uniqlo Philippines Marketing Director, described the Bra Top as “a timeless piece regardless of the season... an essential that effortlessly provides you confidence and style.”
