Yuka Saso closes with 67 to finish tied for eighth in Japan LPGA tourney

September 21 ------ YUKA Saso bounced back to finish in the top 10 of the Descente Ladies Tokai Classic in Japan. The Filipina-Japanese shotmaker followed a second-round 73 with a closing five-under 67 on Sunday.

The 19-year-old Saso made six birdies, including the par-4 No. 1 which she bogeyed the previous day. She again suffered bogey on the par-3 No. 6 but that was the lone shot she dropped on the final day at Shin Minami Aichi CC.

Joint eighth at eight-under 208, Saso bagged ¥1,860,000 (around P860,000). Ayaka Furue won the playoff against Hiroko Azuma and bagged ¥14,000,000. Furue had a bogey-free final round of 68 to end up at 201, which was matched by Azuma.
