March 30 ------ Willie Revillame has tested negative for cancer a few days after he asked for the public’s prayers for his health, when his recent colonoscopy showed polyps inside his body. The TV host disclosed the results of his medical test during a live episode of “Wowowin,” as seen in the variety show’s YouTube channel yesterday. “Kanina tinawagan ako nang 8:30 [a.m.] ng aking doktor, Dra. Juliet Gopez-Cervantes […]. Sabi niya, ‘Willie, kumusta ka? Sobra kang magdasal. Good news, negative ka sa cancer.’ Thank you, Lord!” he narrated.
Revillame admitted he could not sleep prior to getting the test results, but he was ready to undergo an operation if needed. “If worse comes to worst, o-operahan ako, puputulin ‘yung bituka ko, ready naman ako. Gano’n talaga ang buhay,” he told fans.
Revillame then thanked those who prayed for him and advised the public to go on regular checkups if possible. “Kailangan po nagpapa-executive checkup tayo yearly. Kung ‘di niyo man kaya, magpa-check po kayo kahit outpatient kayo. Lalong-lalo na po endoscopy, colonoscopy,” he said. “Para po malaman niyo kung ano’ng meron kayo sa loob.”
Revillame revealed last Thursday, March 28, that his doctor had found suspected cancerous polyps inside his stomach and colon during a checkup. This was his first executive checkup in two years since the COVID-19 pandemic. He also clarified that he already had polyps back in 2019, though it was considered benign by his doctors at the time. Revillame recently left GMA Network, after his contract with the network ended last month.
