When is love worth fighting? Tom Rodriguez, JC de Vera, and Rhian Ramos share opinions

April 8 ------ Tom Rodriguez, JC de Vera, and Rhian Ramos are excited about their upcoming movie "Huwag Mo 'Kong Iwan" under Bentria Productions. It will be directed by award-winning director Joel Lamangan.

During the media conference held at the Manila Hotel on April 4, producer Engr. Benjamin G. Austria expressed his delight about the cast of his second project under the film outfit. Austria's long-held wish for Joel to direct a movie under Bentria Productions has finally come true.

Thank you direk at maganda yung prinesent mo sa akin. Thank you Rhian, tinanggap mo ang offer namin. "Huwag Mo 'Kong Iwan" Tom's comeback movie, his first since the horror flick Maledicto in 2019. Tom has admitted that he still feels nervous when he faces the camera. But Tom said that he's here to stay. "Last movie ko yata was Malidicto noong 2019 yata yun, pre-pandemic pa. It's a Joel Lamangan film. I was excited when he asked Popoy (talent manager) kung pwede ako sa film na ito. When I read the script, nagustuhan ko. Ngayon lang ako nagkaroon ng chance to complement them. Magugulat kayo sa actual movie if based sa script. But I trust everyone that I am with. I'm willing to throw myself to work," Tom said.

The drama film is a reunion project for Rhian and JC, who were previously in a relationship. "Fifteen years since we last worked together. We've matured na and we have partners in life.

Rhian is excited about working with Tom for the first time in a movie. "Nagka trabaho kami before sa soap." Having previously collaborated on two soap projects, she expressed her comfort and great working relationship with him. She is thrilled about their movie together and his return to the screen. When asked to choose between making movies or television series, Rhian said she enjoys the challenges of doing both mediums. "Hindi ako makapili because I enjoy the challenge of both. Yung movie kasi there are fewer scenes in a day, and you get to focus on each scene at saka may madetalye siya. Yung teleserye naman, I enjoy the challenge na nag mamadali tayong lahat. I enjoy naman both," said Rhian, who will soon be seen in the upcoming Kapuso series "Pulang Araw" and "Sangre."

JC mentioned that it is a privilege to work with Tom again for the second time. "It's my second movie with Tom. The first one was 'So It's You.'

In 2022, Bentria's initial offering, "Broken Blooms," received much recognition from film festivals abroad. Director Joel was asked if he feels the pressure to duplicate the success of Bentria. Rhian also promised to give her best in her first project with director Joel. When love is worth fighting

Tom, JC, and Rhian shared their opinions about when it's worth fighting for love. "Through the years, nagbago na rin yung idea ko on what love is. I grew up believing it was easy to love someone or be in love. Kasi gusto mo siya laging kasama. Life is beautiful kapag kasama mo siya," said Rhian. She added: "Later, I realized that it's a choice that you make every single day ... na kahit ano pa yung flaw, kahit medyo off yung mood, or kahit ano pang problema. So now I believe na dapat ipaglaban no matter what." JC answered: "To be honest, I'm not sure. Tom said it's different stroke for different folks. "It's different for other people. You would know if you were in that situation and pushed to the limit. Kanina, there was a question, 'what you've learned about love'...ayoko na sabihin." Tom paused. Then he continued: "Siguro, you learn you don't open it to the public. You don't share it with the world. Sometimes with our job, nab-blur yung lines eh. Yung relationship natin hindi na sa atin. At minsan doon pa nagiging murky ang water. "So, siguro, from now on, I like what JC was saying; he's really protecting what he has. That's something I want to commend.
