‘The Loyalty Game’ actresses share why women’s intuition is often right

MANILA, Philippines, July 12 ------ The female lead cast of the suspense-thriller series “The Loyalty Game” shared how the so-called women’s intuition is powerful and often proven to be accurate. It is one of the themes explored in the ABS-CBN Studios and Prime Video collaboration series, which is directed by Mae Cruz-Alviar and is now streaming on Prime Video.

The series is topbilled by real-life showbiz couple Jericho Rosales and Janine Gutierrez, alongside Sofia Andres, Yen Santos, Charlie Dizon, Kira Balinger, Elisse Joson and Maika Rivera, who portray the “loyalty testers.” “Sometimes, intuition can be scary because what if it’s just trauma? At the same time, there are external factors yung mga bagay-bagay na nag-i-influence sayo which is true,” Maika began during the media presentation held earlier at Las Casas, Quezon City.

“But I do believe that if you trust your gut and if you really believe that something is wrong, there’s nothing wrong with pointing it out. But at the same time, let’s just be sure that when we enter a relationship, we should give our full trust to our partner,” she added. “Yes, lahat po ng kutob ko in my past relationships, most of them were true talaga,” Kira affirmed. “I don’t know what it is with the energy pero malakas ako mag-sense na if there’s something different, if there’s this slightest change in your voice, in your body language, the way that you speak to me, I picked it up immediately. I think women are blessed to have that intuition.”

For her part, Yen shared that she has a strong intuition, saying that she’s good at sensing when something is off. “Lahat ng kutob ko napatunayan kong totoo. Pero minsan alam ko na hindi rin talaga siya accurate. Maybe we should just treat it as a warning sign but not a final conclusion. There should be proof. But based on my personal experience, lahat talaga dumadating sa akin yung resibo kahit wala akong ginagawa,” she expressed. She added that intuition is not exclusive to women but is something that everyone can experience.

Elisse, meanwhile, believes that when your body feels uncomfortable or you experience a sense of uneasiness, it’s your body’s way of signaling that something isn’t right. “And you should always listen to it,” she urged. “Not necessarily na magwala ka na or make a big fuss about it but you should address it and talk to whoever likes your partner. The same goes for intuition when it comes to friendship or any kind of relationship. You should address it because it’s telling you something.”

Sofia chimed in, saying that her intuition is right most of the time, but she tries to let it go whenever she feels anxious. “Because it’s scary,” she explained. “I just choose to let go and not think about it. Kasi if merong nagsisinungaling sayo, it will come na may araw na malalaman mo lahat ng katotohanan. And I don’t wanna control things too much ‘cause before I tend to control a lot and it’s frustrating. So let life be. It’s gonna be full of surprises.”

On the other hand, Carmina Villarroel, who plays the mother of Janine’s character in the series, was proud to say that she didn’t experience it with her husband, Zoren Legaspi. “I’m very blessed na hindi ko kailangan mangutob,” she stated. “But let’s say, may kutob ka, we’re not talking about Zoren, I still need proof kasi sigurista akong tao.” “It should be clear, there’s proof,” she stressed. “You have to investigate. And when you investigate, you need proof and pictures. If you have pictures, you have to give it to your partner. But bago mag-Zoren, magaling ba ako mangutob? I forgot. I’m not sure. Haha!”

Janine agreed with the others’ views, saying that intuition is “your body’s way of telling you something.” “There’s this different energy. There’s something wrong. And sometimes pa nga, siguro dahil dadating sa point na (where you tell yourself), ‘This is nothing, this is nothing.’ But if it’s like a soft nudge that it won’t go away, for me, (I feel) I’m right.” Jericho echoed what the others said but noted that it feels different for men. “Energy lahat yan eh. Pag nararamdaman mo, it’s different for us, men. Kasi pag kinukutuban kami, parang kabag yung nangyayari. Parang iba yung manifestation.”
