October 28 ------ TEAM Liquid Philippines certainly saved the best for last. The Cavalry delivered a performance to remember, sweeping Aurora Gaming 4-0 in a dominant MPL Philippines Season 16 Grand Finals to secure back-to-back championships and move one step closer to completing the Golden Road dream.

In Game 1, Team Liquid PH overpowered Aurora Gaming with a commanding 21-6 kill score, taking full control of major objectives, gold lead, and map pressure from start to finish. Despite Aurora’s valiant defensive efforts, Kiel “Oheb” Soriano’s Harith erupted for a legendary kill during a 22-minute base siege, spearheading the Cavalry’s charge to a statement-opening victory with an impeccable 12-0-6 KDA.

Riding the momentum into Game 2, Team Liquid PH continued to press Aurora Gaming to the wall with impeccable coordination, skill layering, and calculated aggression. Aurora once again mounted a gritty defense in hopes of tying the series, but Oheb, this time on Granger, delivered another masterclass in precision with a double kill during a 19-minute counterengage at the top lane. Jaypee “Jaypee” Dela Cruz’s Hilda stood firm in the frontlines, finishing with a 2-3-9 KDA to keep the Cavalry’s momentum rolling.

Game 3 saw Team Liquid PH dismantle Aurora in another one-sided affair, refusing to give their opponents any chance at a comeback. The Cavalry exploded to an 11-1 kill score past the 10-minute mark, sealing yet another dominant win. Sanford “Sanford” Vinuya executed a flawless Flicker–Land Shaker combo, catching three Aurora members and setting up the final base push. Meanwhile, Jaypee on Gatotkaca once again anchored the squad’s defense, soaking damage and finishing with a steady 0-1-11 KDA.

In Game 4, Aurora clung to a small glimmer of hope to extend the series, but Team Liquid PH wasted no time in closing out the championship. Although Cedrix “Demonkite” Caranto managed to steal a crucial 16-minute Lord, Alston “Sanji” Pabico’s Luo Yi pulled off a brilliant backdoor Diversion play, destroying Aurora’s base to seal the sweep and back-to-back title for the Cavalry. The crowd at Cuneta Astrodome erupted as Jaypee was crowned Finals MVP—the first of his illustrious career—after leading Team Liquid PH to a historic 4-0 Grand Finals sweep. With the victory, Team Liquid PH successfully defended its MPL title, adding another championship to its growing legacy after winning Season 15.

The Cavalry now sets its sights on the M7 World Championship, the final step toward achieving the Golden Road and cementing their place among the greatest teams in Mobile Legends history.
