Standhardinger, Fajardo top picks in PBA All-Star draft




February 27 ------ CHRISTIAN Standhardinger and June Mar Fajardo were picked first by Team Japeth Aguilar and Team Mark Barroca, respectively, in the 2024 PBA All-Star Draft held in a made-for-TV event at the TV5 Media Center.  

  

Standhardinger was selected by Aguilar, whose team will be coached by his Barangay Ginebra coach Tim Cone and won the right to pick first through a separate coin tosses. Barroca, the leading vote getter in the draft by fans, turned to the seven-time PBA MVP for his first selection, with Fajardo also to be coached in the All-Star by San Miguel coach Jorge Gallent. It was the second straight time that Standhardinger and Fajardo were picked first and second overall since the format was instituted last season. 

  

Team Japeth also selected former PBA MVP Scottie Thompson of Barangay Ginebra, Paul Lee of Magnolia, Calvin Oftana of TNT, Jamie Malonzo of Barangay Ginebra, Chris Newsome of Meralco, Don Trollano of San Miguel, Marcio Lassiter of San Miguel, Arvin Tolentino of NorthPort, Maverick Ahanmisi of Barangay Ginebra, Tyler Tio of Phoenix, Stanley Pringle of Ginebra, and Terrence Romeo of San Miguel. 

  

Team Mark will have Jason Perkins of Phoenix Super LPG, CJ Perez of San Miguel, Robert Bolick of NLEX, Jio Jalalon of Magnolia, Ian Sangalang of Magnolia, James Yap of Blackwater, Calvin Abueva of Magnolia, Jayson Castro of TNT, Gabe Norwood of Rain or Shine, Ricci Rivero of Phoenix, Cliff Hodge of Meralco, Juami Tiongson of Terrafirma, and Nards Pinto of Ginebra.
