March 4 ------ SJ Belangel rained on Kevin Quiambao’s parade as his Daegu KOGAS Pegasus side took the 88-79 victory over the Goyang Sono Skygunners in the Korean Basketball League (KBL) at Goyang Sono Arena. The former Ateneo gunner shot 2-of-5 from three-point distance for his 19 points, on top of eight assists, two rebounds, and two steals as the visitors strung back-to-back wins this weekend.
Quiambao, for his part, finished with 17 points on 3-of-8 shooting from deep, to go with six boards, four dimes, and two steals a day removed from a 31-point performance. Daegu moved up to 22-18, while Goyang Sono slid to a 13-26 card at the end of its two-game win streak.
JD Cagulangan's guns were unusually silent as Suwon KT Sonicboom escaped with the 62-56 thriller over Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus at Dongcheon Gymnasium. The UAAP Finals MVP only had three points, but did get three rebounds, three assists, and two steals as his side improved to a 24-17 record. Migs Oczon was scoreless in 10 minutes of play for Ulsan (24-16).
