MANILA, Philippines, July 18 ------ SB19 made history as the first P-pop group to bag the Favorite Asian Act plum at the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards 2024, edging out fellow nominees Enhypen, NiziU, Tiara Andini, and Iman Troye.
The P-pop powerhouse’s win was announced on Wednesday, July 17, on Nickelodeon Asia’s Instagram account. It was accompanied by a video of SB19 thanking the network and their fans for the milestone. SB19 made history as the first P-pop group to bag the Favorite Asian Act plum at the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards 2024, edging out fellow nominees Enhypen, NiziU, Tiara Andini, and Iman Troye.

Meanwhile, Justin said it’s “an honor” to represent the Philippines.SB19 thanked their fans in a separate post on X (formerly Twitter), saying winning the award is a “dream come true” for them and the Philippines. “SB19 is 2024 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards Favorite Asian Act. Thank you, A’TIN and @Nickelodeon,” they wrote. “Winning Favorite Asian Act at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards is a dream come true for us and for our country, The Philippines. Your support and recognition mean everything. We are honored and excited for what’s next!”
The quintet and Nickelodeon also announced that an “encore telecast” will be held on Saturday, July 20, although details of this particular event are yet to be disclosed. While SB19 is the first P-pop group to win the plum, the then-Charice Pempengco was the first Filipino solo artist to bring home the same award. She bested K-pop girl group Wonder Girls, Malaysian artist Yuna, and Indonesian singer Agnes Monica.
Earlier this month, the quintet was also the first P-pop group to appear on the Japanese music platform “The First Take” where they performed their hit songs “Gento” and “Mapa.” SB19, composed of Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken, and Justin, is set to release their “Pagtatag!” documentary film on Aug. 28. The upcoming docu will center around the group braving through a “year of challenges” which took place in their “Pagtatag!” era. The group debuted in October 2018 with “Tilaluha” and eventually went on to gain massive success in the P-pop industry, earning them the moniker “P-pop Kings” or “Kings of P-pop.”
