Rabiya Mateo likened to Linda Walker as she scores 741 on NMAT

March 12 ------ Miss Universe Philippines 2020 titleholder Rabiya Mateo posted a 741 General Performance Score (GPS) on the National Medical Admission Test (NMAT), placing her in the Top 1% of test-takers nationwide and prompting comparisons to the viral fictional character “Linda Walker.”

Mateo took to her Instagram Story on Tuesday, March 10, to repost a screenshot announcing that she topped the NMAT with a score of 741. The art card included the actress’s NMAT results. The art card also noted that the beauty queen’s score surpassed the 719 score commonly attributed to the fictional “Linda Walker.” “Linda Walke,r who? Rabiya Mateo yan! Congratulations, Gah,” read the IG Story’s caption.

Mateo, who represented the Philippines at the Miss Universe 2020 pageant, where she finished in the Top 21, graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Iloilo Doctors’ College in 2018.

During an interview with DJ Chacha in her YouTube vlog last month, the beauty queen-actress revealed that she is officially going back to medical school. “It’s a calling, and I’m so happy to share this with everybody that I’m going to go back to med school. I’ve wanted to become a doctor ever since,” she said at the time.

Mateo, who revealed in January that she was struggling with depression and anxiety, underscored that her aspirations to return to medical school have been influenced by her battle with mental health. “I really want to understand my situation right now. And aside from that, gusto ko rin makatulong overall,” she said. “I really want to use my knowledge to help people.”

The NMAT is a standardized entrance exam required for admission to most medical schools in the Philippines. Scores are reported as a GPS ranging from 200 to 800, along with a percentile rank that compares examinees nationwide.

Meanwhile, the name Linda Walker has circulated online lately. She is a fictional character from the viral drama “The Heiress Who Won with Brains,” played by Chinese actress Zhang Yingfei. She is an intelligent student who discovers that she is the rightful daughter of a wealthy couple. Linda’s IQ of 180 and her diligence prompted her to score 719 points on a tricky mock exam, a rare feat since the average scores range from 400 to 500. She later became a topic online and the center of internet memes.
