MANILA, June 5 ------ The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) has served another warrant of arrest for Sen. Jinggoy Estrada, former Public Works Secretary Manuel Bonoan, and several co-accused in connection with a graft case. In a statement, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said the warrant was issued by the Sandiganbayan Fifth Division on June 1, 2026 for alleged violation of Section 3(e) of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act. The court recommended bail at P90,000.
According to the PNP, the warrant was served on June 3 to Estrada and three co-accused who are currently detained at the New Quezon City Jail in Barangay Silangan, Quezon City. “Proper coordination was made with the concerned custodial authorities to ensure orderly and lawful service of the court process,” the PNP said.
The same warrant was also served on Bonoan on June 4 while he was in police custody and receiving medical treatment at a private hospital. Police said the service of the warrant on Bonoan was carried out in accordance with procedures governing individuals under medical confinement.
The PNP stressed that all actions related to the implementation of the warrant were conducted in compliance with existing rules and with due regard for the constitutional rights of the accused. Estrada, Bonoan and several former Department of Public Works and Highways officials are facing multiple charges linked to the alleged anomalous flood control projects.
