PH launches National Cinema Day on Sept. 12 with P100 movie tickets

September 11 ------ Heads up, moviegoers! An industry group is launching the first-ever Philippine National Cinema Day on Saturday, September 12, with movie tickets available for just P100.

For one day only, participating cinemas across the country will offer P100 tickets for regular 2D screenings, the Cinema Exhibitors Association of the Philippines (CEAP), which is organizing the event, said in a press release.

The CEAP said the event gives Filipinos a chance to enjoy the latest films, both local and international releases, at an affordable price. It also hopes to remind moviegoers "of the unique experience that only cinemas can provide, from giant screens and immersive sound to the shared excitement of watching a film with a live audience." “This is more than a promotional event. It is a nationwide celebration of cinema and an invitation for Filipinos of all ages to experience the excitement, emotion, and community of watching movies on the big screen,” CEAP president Irene L. Jose said.

Moviegoers can secure their seats early, with advance ticket sales starting on September 10 through participating cinema box offices, websites, mobile applications and authorized ticketing platforms.

The initiative is supported by the Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP), Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB), and the Metro Manila Film Festival through the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority.
