Original 'Encantadia' Sang'gres honor the show on 20th anniversary

May 5 ------ The original “Encantadia” Sang’gres marked the show’s 20th anniversary on Instagram. Diana Zubiri posted a photo of her character, Danaya. “Unang Teleserye ko ang ‘Encantadia,’ wala pa ako masyado ka alam alam dito pero minahal niyo ang ako,” the actress said. “Happy 20 years mga Ashti! Avisala Eshma.” 

Karylle posted an Instagram Reel showing dolls and other memorabilia of her character, Alena. “Hasne Ivo Live, Encantadia! Happy 20 years to us Enca fam and Enkantadiks,” Karylle said. “Alena lives on in every single happy interaction I have with someone who spent their childhood with us. I thank every single one of you who ever took the time to tell me about your childhood ? E correi diu,” she added. 

Iza Calzado, who played Amihan, commented on Karylle’s post, “E corre diu, Alena!” She added, “Can’t believe it’s been 20 years! Hasne Ivo Live, Encantadia!” Iza also posted a fan-made Instagram Reel of Amihan’s moments on the fantasy series. 

The original “Encantadia” stars have reunited multiple times through the years. The fantasy series first aired on GMA-7 in 2006 then remade in 2016. 

The original stars also sent their heartfelt messages to the cast of “Sang’gre,” an upcoming series which will feature a new generation of diwatas. It stars Bianca Umali as Terra, the new keeper of the Brilyante ng Lupa; Faith Da Silva as Flamarra, keeper of the Brilyante ng Apoy; Kelvin Miranda as Adamus, the new protector of the Brilyante ng Tubig; and Angel Guardian as Deia, the keeper of the Brilyante ng Hangin. 

“Sang’gre” will follow the new generation’s adventures as they battle a new enemy, Mitena (Rhian Ramos). The series trailer reached more than 20 million views. The Sang’gres from the 2016 reboot namely Kylie Padilla, Glaiza De Castro, Gabbi Garcia, and Sanya Lopez as Amihan, Pirena, Alena, and Danaya, respectively, will also be appearing in the upcoming series. “Sang’gre” is directed by Rico Gutierrez and will premiere on GMA Network soon.
