MANILA, Philippines , October 16 ------ Junior athletes representing various schools, cities and municipalities came in droves last Sunday in Week 8 of the PATAFA Weekly Relay Series supported by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) and CEL Logistics, Inc.
With the loosening of restrictions regarding entry to the venue, the younger set made their way to the PhilSports Complex in Pasig City, some coming from as far as Laoag City, to measure their abilities in their respective age-groups in steeplechase, long jump, shot put, 5,000m walk, 400m hurdles, 200m run, 4x400m relay, mixed 4x100 relay and pole vault.
World No. 3 pole-vaulter EJ Obiena, who is scheduled to leave for Italy on Oct. 14 to resume his training, was again on hand at the event to give inspiration to the young athletes. Obiena brought several pairs of Puma shoes which were handed to athletes who came up with the correct answers to several trivia questions.
The event is made possible through the help of Milo, Cignal TV, Wireless Link Technologies, Casio G-Shock, Cellife Cellular Nutrition, Masiv Sports, Dr. J Alcohol, Pencer Q, Chooks-To-Go, Puma and Silver Bullet Productions.
