Maricel Soriano, Maris Racal tie for Best Actress at PMPC Star Awards 2026

October 27 ------ Diamond Star Maricel Soriano and Maris Racal both brought home their Best Actress Awards after tying at the 42nd Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) Star Awards for Movies for their respective movies.

Soriano and Racal received their awards at the PMPC Gabi ng Parangal held Monday night at the Winford Hotel in Manila, for their respective performances in the drama movies “Meet, Greet and Bye,” and “Sunshine.”

Jericho Rosales won Best Actor for his title role in the biopic “Quezon,” but his award was recieved by director Jerrold Tarog on his behalf.

Meanwhile, Vilma Santos was inducted into the Hall of Fame as a Movie Actress, along with National Artist Ricky Lee as Movie Screenwriter.

Sharon Cuneta also explained her absence in the event where she was supposed to receive the Nora Aunor Ulirang Artista Lifetime Achievement Award alongside Rex Cortez. The award was intead accepted by her daughter, Kakie Pangilinan. The Megastar said she was preparing for her oncoming US concert tour next month.
