October 27 ------ Julia Montes admitted that taking on business responsibilities alongside her acting career has been challenging, as she continues to find her footing as an executive producer of the TV series “Sigabo” and CEO of health and wellness brand.

During the launch of her brand’s new supplement, Montes opened up to the media about her work as an executive TV producer, revealing that it was her partner, Coco Martin, who encouraged her to embrace the role.

“Nahihiya nga ako na tawagin ng ganun,” she said. It all started as yun lang, and then pinag-usapan namin kung paano ako makakatulong dun sa transition ng ‘Sigabo,’” she added.

Montes shared that she also handles financial responsibilities at CCM Film Productions, the film and television production company that Martin established in 2017. “Ako rin po ang finance head. So, medyo dual role tayo dito. Parang doble-kara lang,” she said.

On top of being an executive producer, Montes also serves as the CEO of a health and wellness brand, which she co-founded with celebrity chemist Pinky Tobiano. “At first, sobrang hindi surreal kong pakiramdam. Kinakabahan ako at the end of the day, hindi siyang madali. Pero ‘yung totoong reality ng CEO, mahirap,” she said.

Montes said that balancing her various responsibilities can affect her rest but she remains grateful for the opportunities she has been receiving.

Montes also emphasized that challenges are inevitable in running a business and working in production. “Pero, ang natutunan ko lang po talaga, as long as you keep your faith, tas tamang tao sa paligid mo, everything will be okay and kakayanin mo kasi, meron kang inspiration sa paningin mo,” she said.

Montes also said she and Martin also make a conscious effort to protect their relationship from the demands of their work. “Marami siyang naging advice sa akin, pero ang naging rule kasi naming dalawa is huwag naming pababayaan or kakalimutan ‘yung oras namin sa isa’t isa,” she said. “Siyempre, lagi kaming nasa work. Minsan nga, work na yung nagiging topic namin. Nag-a-allot po talaga kami ng time sa isa’t isa na walang work topic para hindi napapabayaan ‘yung relationship namin,” she added.
