MAAP Celebrates the Graduation of 175 Cadets from the First Valhareans Class of 2025

On May 27, 2025, the Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific (MAAP) held a graduation ceremony at Kamaya Point in Alas-Asin, Mariveles, Bataan, honoring the inauguration of the first batch of the Valhareans Class of 2025. A total of 175 students received their degrees during the event.


The ceremony opened with an invocation led by Father Gerard Cuenca, who offered prayers and blessings to mark the special occasion. Dr. Conrado F. Oca, President of the Associated Marine Officers and Seamen's Union of the Philippines (AMOSUP) and Chairman of MAAP, delivered the welcoming remarks. He extended his gratitude to the parents, sponsors, shipping company partners, and other guests, acknowledging the vital support they provided throughout the graduates' academic journey.


Captain Daniel S. Torres Jr., MAAP’s Dean of Academics, formally introduced the first batch of Valhareans Class of 2025. This was followed by the conferral of degrees by MAAP President Vice Admiral Eduardo Ma R. Santos. Lieutenant Vincent T. Larida of the Philippine Navy read the commissioning orders and congratulated the graduates on their accomplishments.


The event concluded with an inspiring message from the guest speaker, Mr. Simon Spacey, the incoming President of the International Maritime Employers’ Council (IMEC). He praised the graduates for their perseverance and dedication and encouraged them to let their experiences guide them in their future careers in the maritime industry. He emphasized, "Let your experiences be the compass that guides you wherever your journey takes you."
