LPA strengthens into tropical depression Isang

MANILA, August 22 ------ A low pressure area east of Luzon strengthened into tropical depression Isang on Friday morning, PAGASA said.

The state weather bureau said it would start issuing tropical cyclone bulletins at 11 a.m. PAGASA earlier said 2 to 4 inches of rain could hit the following areas:

- Cagayan

- Isabela

- Quirino

- Nueva Vizcaya

- Nueva Ecija

- Tarlac

- Ifugao

- Benguet

- La Union

- Bataan

- Zambales

- Pangasinan

- Aurora

- Quezon

- Camarines Norte

- Camarines Sur

Several areas have suspended classes on Friday due to the inclement weather, which has triggered flooding in some roads in Metro Manila.
