August 17 ------ A low pressure area (LPA) entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility, state weather bureau PAGASA said.

As of 2 a.m. the weather disturbance identified as LPA 08f was estimated to be located at 1,075 kilometers east of Northern Luzon. It has a medium chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours, PAGASA said. At 3 a.m., the LPA was estimated to be located 1,040 km east of Northern Luzon. "Itong low pressure area ay wala pang direktang epekto sa ating lagay ng panahon," PAGASA weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said during the agency's Public Weather Forecast. "Inaasahang ito ay kikilos pakanluran o maaaring dumaan sa Extreme Northern Luzon at may posibilidad na maging isang bagyo," he added.

Meanwhile, as of 2 a.m. Monday, the LPA identified as LPA 08e has exited the monitoring domain of PAGASA. The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) on the other hand will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains over Luzon and the western section of the Visayas on Monday, PAGASA reported.
