January 28 ------ It has been seven years since real-life sweethearts Loisa Andalio and Ronnie Alonte were paired up as the love team LoiNie, but they hope to grow as individuals in separate projects for now.
The afternoon drama “Pira-Pirasong Paraiso” is the latest project of Andalio and Alonte as onscreen partners, with the actress starring as Baby Girl Abiog, and the latter for the role of Jonaf Salvador. But as the drama is set to end this week, Andalio admits that she and Alonte are eyeing solo work in their hopes to deepen their career base as individuals. “Pagkatapos ng serye, siguro mas gusto kong magkaiba naman muna. Kanya-kanya kaming mag-grow muna (When the show ends, I guess I want to take a different project for now. I want us to grow for now),” she told reporters during the show’s finale press conference.
The actress also noted that she and her boyfriend have been on a love team for seven years, saying Alonte deserves to shine alone. “Seven years na kaming love team [ni Ronnie]. Gusto kong mag-grow din siya as an actor (We’ve been in a love team for seven years. I want him to grow as an actor),” she said. Alonte, who agreed with Andalio, said he considered “Pira-Pirasong Paraiso” as his training ground for his ideal genre, action. “Gusto ko talagang mag-action (I want to take on action roles)” he said. “Tama si Loisa. Ang napag-usapan namin is kapag may magandang offer, pwede kang mag-solo or humiwalay muna,” he further added. (Loisa is right. We discussed that if we receive a good offer, I want to work solo or to be separate from the love team muna.) The actor also admitted that he’s open to taking on a BL (boys’ love) kind of project, although he didn’t expound on the details. “Pira-Pirasong Paraiso” also stars Charlie Dizon, Alexa Ilacad, Elisse Joson, KD Estrada, Joseph Marco, Snooky Serna, Gardo Versoza, and Rosanna Roces. Aside from the afternoon drama, LoiNie also worked together on the projects “Unloving U,” “Love in 40 Days,” and “James and Pat and Dave,” just to name a few.
