January 7 ------ Kris and Coleen were among the celebrity guests at the opening of Crepe Glazik's newest branch at Shangri-La Plaza Mall last weekend. The authentic French creperie, owned by couple Neven and Nicole Charpentier, also has branches in Makati and Bonifacio Global City.

During the event, both actresses spoke openly about motherhood and how it transformed them as women of purpose.

For Kris, mom to two-year-old Hailee Lucca with husband Perry Choi, every day of parenting is fulfilling despite the exhaustion that naturally comes with it. “Enjoy! Sobrang enjoy. Nakakapagod pero enjoy, ” she shared with a laugh, describing herself as a very hands-on mother who remains committed to breastfeeding her daughter, now two years and four months old. Balancing this with her showbiz comeback makes life even more exciting, as Kris prepares for her Kapuso teleserye, "House of Lies," premiering January 19.

Because Hailee is in a very engaging toddler stage and already starting school, time management is key for Kris. She admitted it is still difficult for her to take on overnight work because of breastfeeding, and her daughter remains very attached to her. Whenever she isn’t working, she makes it a point to stay at home. “Parang pambawi ko yun sa kanya (it's how I make up to her),” she said.

Kris shared that motherhood completely reshaped her priorities. Even if she admits she could afford not to work, she still chooses to. “Actually, puwede naman akong hindi mag-work eh, pero hinahanap pa rin ng katawan ko. At the same time, gusto ko pa rin ng sarili kong pera. Importante sa babae na may sarili siyang pera. Parang sign of independence ‘yun. That you can stand on your own. Pag iniwan ka, at least you have your own money. Kaya mong buhayin sarili mo at ‘yung baby mo, ‘di ba?"

Kris is also grateful for husband Perry’s unwavering support. She revealed that she discovered a deeper side to him when he became a father. “Very all out siya. Walang complaint,” she shared proudly. She describes their parenting dynamic as a good example of teamwork, adding that they’re hoping to welcome a second baby this year. Meanwhile, Coleen Garcia is embracing life as a proud "boy mom" to five-year-old Amari and four-month-old Austin with husband Billy Crawford. These days, her priority is being present for her sons. “Right now, I’m just focusing on being their mom. I’m always at home, I’m always with them,” she said, admitting motherhood has changed her completely. She admits that her patience has grown immensely, with a capacity for unconditional love that she never knew existed.

Coleen stated that she remains hands-on while also exclusively breastfeeding her newborn. When it comes to feeding Amari, she keeps his sugar intake minimal and prepares meals prepared from scratch.

Despite their packed schedules as parents, Coleen and Billy make sure to also take care of themselves as individuals and as a couple. They consciously carve out time for personal breaks and date nights. “It’s important, otherwise you get burnt out,” she said. Coleen continues to collaborate with brands and create content, noting that this kind of work blends best with motherhood. However, she admitted she doesn’t see herself returning to teleseryes or films anytime soon, as being away from her children for long hours would be too difficult. As for Billy, he remains busy with international commitments and is set to travel this January again, particularly to France, where many of his projects are based. New music he has worked on for the past two years is also set for release soon, his proud wife bared.
