December 26 ------ Kim Atienza marked this year’s Christmas by remembering his late daughter, Emman Atienza, as he shared their last complete family photo taken on Christmas Eve last year.
In a social media post on Wednesday, Dec. 24, Kim reflected on the photo and expressed how much he missed his youngest daughter, Emman, who died last October. “This was the last photo of all of us together last Christmas Eve. How we miss you, dearest Emmansky,” Atienza wrote. “Thank you, Jesus, for being born to us amidst suffering and grief. Thank you for the 19 years of Emman. We always trust your plan.”
The TV host expressed gratitude to friends and family who had been with them at their darkest moment with a bible quote: “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel.” In the comments section, celebrities including Isabelle Daza, Korina Sanchez, and Iza Calzado, among others, expressed their messages of sympathy to the Atienza family, who continue to grieve Emman’s death. Last month, Kim got himself inked with a musical note and a butterfly, which is the same tattoo that Emman had before she passed.
Meanwhile, in a separate post on TikTok, Emman’s older sister Eliana shared an old clip of a young Emman playing in the snow with the caption, “This holiday season, I’ll be thinking only of you, Emman,” as she added the hashtag “Sisterless Sister.” Emman, who was diagnosed with depression and bipolar disorder, died at their family home in Los Angeles, California, last Oct. 22. She was 19 years old.
