It’s limitless once more

MANILA, Philippines, December 22 ------ Limitless App achieved a feat four other elite squads failed to do win two legs in the PBA 3x3 inaugurals. And Appmasters Jorey Napoles, Brandon Rosser, Reymar Caduyac and Marvin Hayes did it in back-to-back fashion. Nine days after their breakthrough triumph, the Appmasters repeated their golden performance and outclassed first-leg ruler TNT, 21-18, for Leg 6 top honors yesterday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Napoles banged in seven points with five rebounds and capped his heroics with a four-point cluster and a clutch free throw in the stretch to lead the Appmasters to a repeat of their finals victory over TNT in the previous leg and into the first “twin kill” in the six-leg First Conference. The Willie Wilson-coached squad netted P100,000 for topping the leg sponsored by 1Pacman Party List. Limitless also gained a huge momentum booster going to the First Conference Grand Finals on Dec. 29 also at the Big Dome.

The Tropang Giga settled for the P50,000 runner-up purse. TNT and Limitless gave themselves a shot at a historic win No. 2 by taking care of business against their respective semifinal opponents. The Tropang Giga, using a 7-3 windup sparked by back-to-back two-pointers by Almond Vosotros and Martin Gozum, handed erstwhile unbeaten Platinum a 19-15 defeat for their third finals stint. The Appmasters booked a return trip to the gold medal match via a 19-16 victory over first-time semifinalist San Miguel Beer. Platinum later claimed third place honors worth P30,000 with a 21-13 romp over the Beermen.

The top 10 teams will now move forward to the Grand Finals. The conference finale will award P750,000 to the champion, P250,000 to the runner-up and P100,000 to the third placer.
