MANILA, May 14 ------ The House of Representatives adopted a resolution commending girl group BINI for their performance at Coachella, one of the most popular and widely watched music festivals in the world.

House Resolution No. 1001 commends and congratulates the eight-piece act for being the first Filipino pop group to perform at the Coachella, recognizing their contribution to the global promotion of Filipino talent and culture. Among the 14 principal authors are Gabriela Party-list Rep. Sarah Elago and ACT Teachers Party-list Rep. Antonio Tinio.

Prior to this, the Senate also passed a resolution recognizing BINI's Coachella performance as a "historic milestone." BINI became the first all-Filipino act to perform at the Coachella, incorporating traditional Filipino elements into their set as they performed hit songs such as "Karera," "Salamin, Salamin" and their signature song "Pantropiko."
