GMA Network, Viva Music Group form joint venture for OPM

June 20 ------ GMA Network Inc. and Viva Music Group have entered into a 50-50 joint venture agreement covering music-related businesses, including music production, recording, marketing, promotion and distribution, artist management and music publishing.

The agreement, signed through GMV Studios, expands the existing collaboration between GMA Network Inc. and Viva Communications Inc. and brings together the broadcast network’s entertainment and talent resources with Viva Music Group’s music catalog and production operations.

Present at the contract signing were GMA Senior Vice President Annette Gozon-Valdes, Sparkle GMA Artist Center First Vice President Joy Marcelo and Sparkle Talent Management Assistant Vice President Tracy Garcia. Representing the Viva Group of Companies were Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Vicente “Boss Vic” del Rosario Jr., Vicor Music President and Chief Operating Officer Antonio Ocampo and Viva Records Corporation President Verb del Rosario.

According to GMA Network, the venture will cover a range of music-related activities through GMA Music, the network’s music arm. Also present during the signing were Viva Communications Inc. President Vincent del Rosario and Studio Viva President and Chief Operating Officer Valerie del Rosario.

Several Sparkle artists attended the event, including Ysabel Ortega, Jeff Moses, Anthony Rosaldo, Princess Aliyah and Vianna Ricafranca, as well as Sparkle Consultant Lawrence Tan and the P-Pop girl group Dollipop. The companies said the partnership aims to create opportunities for Filipino artists and expand music-related initiatives through their combined resources and platforms.
