Gerald Anderson hopes for Bea Alonzo’s forgiveness, declares Julia Barretto as ‘the one’

August 23 ------ Gerald Anderson did not hesitate in admitting he would like to marry Julia Barretto someday, saying that she is “the one” for him. The actor made this declaration in an interview with TV host Boy Abunda in the latter’s YouTube vlog last Friday, Aug. 20. He was interviewed with his “Init sa Magdamag” co-stars Yam Concepcion and JM de Guzman. “She’s the one,” Anderson said when asked if he would marry Barretto. He also noted that the actress is still young and still has a lot to do before settling down.

“Tito Boy, gusto ko sagutin ‘yan talaga and siguro alam niyo po kung ano’ng isasagot ko diyan,” the actor told Abunda. “Pero dahil siguro she’s still very young and ang dami pa niyang mai-offer sa industriya natin and ang dami pa niyang ipapakita sa inyo, sa audience natin, ‘yung talent niya. So ayaw ko maging hadlang doon.” “If I had my way, of course, kaso hindi pa kami quota (we haven’t met our quota),” he added. Anderson and Barretto got off on a rough start, and it was only last March when the actor admitted their relationship. He was previously in a relationship with actress Bea Alonzo, but the said relationship ended in controversy in 2019 after allegations of a third party, speculated to be Barretto.

Abunda brought up the controversy leading up to Anderson going public about his relationship and asked the actor whether he would like to “fix the problems” surrounding it. According to Anderson, he wishes to change what happened to his relationship with Alonzo, but he knows it would be difficult. “It’s done. I’ve made mistakes. We both made mistakes,” he said. “I really pray, I really hope she will find it in her heart to forgive what happened, forgive me. Nagho-hope lang po ako.” Alonzo recently confirmed she is in a relationship with actor-model Dominic Roque.
