DASMARINAS, Cavite, August 4 ------ Farm Fresh advanced to the 2025 PVL on Tour quarterfinals with a 25-20, 25-15, 25-21 knockout-round rout of Capital1. The Foxies return to the playoff round of a PVL tournament for the first time since the 2024 Reinforced Conference where they were booted out by Akari in the quarterfinals in four sets.
Farm Fresh will take on a well-rested Creamline side to begin the preseason playoffs on Aug. 9, with the winner to take on either PLDT and the winner of ZUS Coffee and Choco Mucho’s knockouts duel. Meanwhile, Capital1 is the first eliminated team in the preseason tilt without a single win in six matches played.
Alohi Robins-Hardy's 15 excellent sets paved the way for four Foxies to hit double figures, led by a game-high 15-piece from Trisha Tubu built on nine attacks, four blocks and two aces. Caitlin Viray and Lorene Toring had 11 points each, ahead of Jolina dela Cruz' 10 markers.
Farm Fresh showed it had the upper hand over Capital1 in the first two sets, even ending the second frame with five unanswered points. Come Set 3, the Foxies were up 15-7 before the Solar Spikers put themselves back in the mix where they scored 10 of the next 11 points in the match to take the lead, 17-16, with KC Galdones, Trisha Genesis and rookie Pia Abbu taking over. Galdones scored seven points, with the latter two adding six each. While Farm Fresh ultimately got the win in the end, head coach Alessandro Lodi rued what he described as an unnecessary late collapse they averted just by the skin of their teeth. "[We shot] ourselves in the foot, but the positive in that is that adversity happens. It's a bit paradoxical, but it's not unwelcome when you find yourselves in those moments," said Lodi. "You don't want to have them, but when you find yourselves in those moments, and I said it in the time-out, you get an opportunity also, an opportunity to get out of it." Lodi added.
