October 15 ------ June Mar Fajardo broke out of his personal slump as San Miguel vented its ire on Terrafirma, 135-105, to stay in the running for the Group A top spot in the PBA Season 50 Governors' Cup at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

Struggling in the season-ending conference with only 8.4 points per game, the nine-time Most Valuable Player flaunted his usual dominant form, posting 25 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Beermen to the bounce back win. Save for a sloppy start that saw SMB trail, 7-11, it was all Beermen all game long with George King exploding for 44 points while CJ Perez had 22 to get their offensive attack going after struggling against TNT the last game.

Don Trollano added 13 for SMB which improved to an 8-3 record, just half a game behind Group A leader NLEX (8-2), which is taking on Titan Ultra as of press time. The Beermen and the Road Warriors are expected to battle for the top seeding on Wednesday, Oct. 21.

Justin Strings finished with 28 points while Maverick Ahanmis added 23 to lead the also-ran Dyip, who slid to a 4-7 slate.
