MANILA, Philippines, October 15 ------ NBA legend Dwyane Wade was in attendance during the match between University of Santo Tomas and Far Eastern University in the UAAP Season 89 men’s basketball tournament at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Wade did a little bit of everything courtside, from watching the game to making a brief appearance at the commentary table. During the halftime break, Wade expressed a heartfelt message to the fans in attendance and those who were supporting from afar. “Today’s been a great day, it has been all [about] basketball… Just to be able to get the opportunity to come here, sit and watch a little bit of this game was something I really wanted to do,” he said. “Thank you guys for the love. It’s been a love-fest for a very long time from afar. As soon as the wheels touched down here, I felt that love. All I’ve done here is tried to give the love back.” he added.

Wade is in Manila for his TADHANA: Make Your Own Way Tour presented by Li-Ning. The Miami Heat household name also had a couple of takeaways from the game he watched. “What I saw about this FEU team is, I watch them play together and as a unit. It’s good to watch people do that and not just play individually,” he said of the Tamaraws, who led the Tigers at the half, 41-28. UST, however, came away with the 81-69 victory.
