September 8 ------ WITH four days left before Alas Pilipinas starts its campaign in the prestigious volleyball stage of the 2025 FIVB Worlds Men Championships, Mark Espejo wants to make the most out of the opportunity—and history.

The feisty gunner Espejo displayed his grit inside the court whenever he suits up for team Philippines after flaunting his killer swings and loaded services. As the national men’s volleyball team faces Tunisia on Sept. 12, Espejo said that above the pressure—there’s this excitement.

Espejo, will be along with veteran Bryan Bagunas to grind with the 21-man pool of Alas Pilipinas. The former Ateneo de Manila University stalwart added that this is another way to promote and recognize men’s volleyball in the Philippines. “I hope that this would be the way, since we also want to see the growth of men’s volleyball in the country.”

The Philippines will face World No. 43 Tunisia on Sept. 12, and eyes to snatch its first win. Alas Pilipinas was one place short in its bid to step onto the podium of the 5th SEA V.League Cup. With almost a year of preparation, the Alas men aim to make history and earn a victory on home soil.

The Philippines is slated in Pool A, alongside Iran, Egypt, and Tunisia.
