Creamline back in PVL Finals after three-set romp over Chery Tiggo

May 6 ------ CREAMLINE proved too cool for Chery Tiggo, sailing to a 25-16, 25-21, 25-20 victory to book its ticket to the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference Finals at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

By improving to 2-1 (win-loss) in the semifinals, the Cool Smashers set the record for the league's most appearances in the finals at 11, earning a chance to vie for an eighth PVL championship - and fourth straight in the open conference. Creamline now awaits the result of the second match between Choco Mucho and Petro Gazz to know its opponent. Chery Tiggo, at 0-3, settles for a place in the consolation battle for third place.

The dynamic duo of Tots Carlos and Kyle Negrito combined for 22 points and 16 excellent to steer Creamline to victory. Despite securing their spot, Jema Galanza said there's no time for the Cool Smashers to relax. "Hindi pa tapos ang trabaho, the goal is to reclaim the crown. Di kami nasa-satisfy sa season kasi di pa namin natatapos ang championship, bawal pa rin mag-relax," Galanza said in the post-game interview.

Head coach Sherwin Meneses added that with their 'situational' type of practice, they're ready to face whoever opponent between Choco and Petro. A win by Choco will mean a repeat of the 2023 Second All-Filipino finals match, while an Angels victory will force a playoff between them on Tuesday to determine Creamline's foe in the final round.
