May 19 ------ The Miss World 2025 pageant has announced that it will still have 40 quarterfinalists in this year’s competition, similar to the more recent editions of the international tilt. “From the 108 participants, 10 contestants from each continental region will advance to the Quarter-Finals,” the longest-running international pageant posted on social media.
At the 72nd Miss World Festival launch held in Telangana, India, earlier this month, only 25 delegates were said to move to the next round of competition, with three ladies battling it out for the crown in the final round. But that has been scrapped already. The 40 ladies who will move to the quarterfinals will also include the winners of the “Fast-Track” events, or the preliminary competitions for Sports, Talent, Top Model, Head-to-Head, and the “Beauty With a Purpose,” regardless of the region they belong to.
Ten delegates will come from Africa, another 10 will be from the Americas and Caribean, 10 more will come from Asia and Oceania, and another 10 will be from Europe. The representatives from the continental regions will be then narrowed down to five each, who will comprise the Top 20 that will advance to the next round of competition. Out of the 20 remaining ladies, only eight will move on to the next round, comprised of the two leading delegates from each of the four continental groups. From the eight delegates, the competition will determine the four continental winners who will proceed to the final round. The remaining ones will be proclaimed as continental runners-up. After the final round of competition, one winner will be declared and will be crowned as Miss World. The three others will be her first, second, and third runners-up.
The final competition will be held at the HITEX (Hyderabad International Convention and Exhibition Center) in Hyderabad on May 31. Czech beauty Krystyna Pyszkova will relinquish her crown to her successor at the end of the show. Krishnah Gravidez is representing the Philippines in the international pageant. She will attempt to post the country’s second Miss World victory, following Megan Young’s win in 2013.
