Mutya is a sexy señorita in Miss Intercontinental 2026 costume show

January 30 ------ Mutya ng Pilipinas Christina Vanhefflin was a vision in white at the national costume show of the 2026 Miss Intercontinental pageant in Egypt. More than 50 delegates painted V Hotel Sahl Hasheesh with color through the display of different cultures from around the world, parading in costumes that depict wildlife, foliage, and other symbols of their respective countries’ heritage.

The part-British Vanhefflin showed up in a modern Mascota de Zaboanga attire with a cleavage-baring oversized panuelo made of shimmering fabric with pink tassels on the hem, the same ones that hung from her sleeves and overskirt. A string of pearls graced her neck, while flowers adorned her hair. A matching fan finished her look.

The Mutya ng Pilipinas titleholder is out to claim the Philippines’ third Miss Intercontinental win, following the victories of Binibining Pilipinas queens Karen Gallman in 2018 and Cinderella Obeñita in 2021.

Vanhefflin is also poised to sustain the country’s 12-year placement streak in the international competition, which started when her fellow Mutya ng Pilipinas queen Koreen Medina finished as third runner-up in 2013. Her predecessor, Alyssa Redondo, became the first-ever delegate from the Philippines to win the coveted “Power of Beauty” award in the previous competition held in 2024. No contest was conducted last year.

Redondo finished as second runner-up, with the Miss Intercontinental title going to Puerto Rico’s Maria Cepero. Both of them will join the judging panel in the final competition.
