MANILA, January 27 ------ Despite being the son of veteran actors Gladys Reyes and Christopher Roxas, Christof is carving out his own name, firmly setting his sights on a music career he calls his true “home base.”

Raised in a household steeped in acting, Christof says music has always been his first love. Influenced by legendary artists like Billy Joel and Paul McCartney, he admits songwriting did not come naturally at first. “It wasn’t first nature to me, ‘yung song writing, but over time I’m very grateful because it also helped me unleash all of my emotions,” he shared.

As he explored different genres, Christof found his sound in rock, describing it as “authentic,” liberating, and instinctive. “When I sing rock, it almost comes second nature to me; it’s very fun… hindi ka niya kino-confine into a box,” he said, noting how the genre allows him to be himself as an artist.

While pursuing music, Christof is currently taking up Hotel and Restaurant Management, driven by an interest in entrepreneurship and a desire to help manage their family restaurant in the future. He considers his studies a “ground base,” calling the experience humbling and essential. He also credits his parents for giving him the freedom to choose his own path. Though they reminded him to prioritize his studies, he emphasized that they never pressured him to follow them into acting. “They always wanted me to venture into my own little things. Pinapaalala lang nila sa’kin is be humble, remain grateful for what you have, paa sa lupa mata sa langit. They’re very supportive, naman,” he shared.

Acting, however, is not completely off the table. Christof said he remains open to entering the field someday, but stressed that music comes first for now. “I admire the profession of acting, I admire the art... But, this is my passion and no one can touch me when it comes to my music,” he reiterated. Focused on being recognized for his craft, Christof hopes to collaborate with iconic OPM artists like Eraserheads, Parokya Ni Edgar, Rivermaya, Itchyworms, Ben&Ben, and even Ely Buendia or Ogie Alcasid.
