Chesca Kramer and daughter Kendra on fostering a strong mother-daughter bond

May 17 ------ “I think of a strong, resilient, understanding, forgiving, and nurturing woman. But a mother to me serves also as a role model to her children, she is her children’s guiding light; she teaches and imparts values to her children and [her] love for God. Mothers are their children’s problem solvers, helping them process things to help better guide them with all the surrounding issues,” says Chesca from her perspective of what it means to be a mother.

Chesca Garcia-Kramer grew up in the public eye, starting as a child actress on Ang TV and making a name for herself in iconic teleseryes like Gimik and Encantadia. Now, she is one of the faces of Lactacyd Feminine Hygiene and manages her own business through the Team Kramer YouTube channel, having created a life and career for herself on-screen.

Among the many roles she has played in her life, the most important one by far is being a loving and devoted mother to her three children. “I think of a strong, resilient, understanding, forgiving, and nurturing woman. Despite the stress of being in the public eye, Chesca is known to be quite hands-on when it comes to raising her three children. Her eldest, Kendra, describes their relationship with their mom as very healthy. “My mom is very intentional with the time she spends with me and my siblings. How she values us in all aspects, gives me the empowerment and encouragement I need to keep going,” Kendra says.

This unique connection Chesca has built with Kendra is also the powerhouse behind Lactacyd Feminine Hygiene where the mother-daughter bond celebrates the beauty of womanhood, treating intentional hygiene practices as a rite of passage not only to discover their individuality but also to get to know their femzone on a deeper level. “Personal hygiene is really big for me. As a mom, I ensure to pass on what I’ve been taught. So, I’ve passed on Lactacyd Feminine Wash as a habit to Kendra because it provides the ultimate feminine care for women with a powerful yet gentle formula,” Chesca shared. “Ever since I was young and was just starting, Lactacyd has been there for me that’s why I’m confident that when my skin speaks, Lactacyd listens.”

Chesca also acknowledged that women go through different life stages in their lifetime, which further strengthens her trust in the brand saying, “It has all the variants we need for every stage we go through as women.” Each stage presents a new life lesson, and an integral aspect that helps daughters overcome these milestones is the nurturing presence of a mother figure. This is why Chesca shares the three key things she does to maintain the strong bonds she has with her kids:

Chesca believes that there are no shortcuts when it comes to taking on the mother role. “Motherhood has taught me to be intentional,” she says. “There is much to teach our kids and they need all the molding and guidance from us. I’ve dedicated all of myself while children still yearn for my love and comfort; I see the great value that comes with it because they know me, they trust me, and now, it is easier for them to obey me.”

For Chesca, being intentional helps her children flourish, own their journey to self-discovery, and become ideal role models for their peers. “I remind my daughters who they are and that they are created for a good purpose; that they have a voice and influence, and to be role models of fairness, truth, and integrity. I remind my daughters to stand up for themselves and never forget to pursue what is right and honorable,” Chesca shares.

Chesca places the utmost importance on making time to be present with her children. “For all my kids, love is spelled T-I-M-E, my kids value time with their parents. That is why I make sure that I’m always available for my kids. I’m never too busy to hear them out, no questions and thoughts of them are ever too hard to entertain,” she says. This is apparent in how comfortable her kids are with her in asking for guidance, “Sometimes when I just need to open up, I go to my mom, and it just relaxes me knowing that someone’s always there for me whenever I’m going through something. We’re open to each other and she cares for me a lot,” Kendra shares.

Chesca believes that to connect with her children better, she must nurture her faith in God and faith in herself, connecting with her own needs, which is something she learned from her mother. “My mom has taught me to be responsible for myself, valuing who I am and how I care for myself. Most of all she has taught me to be strong in everything. She taught me to stand up for myself and be discerning with my decisions,” Chesca shares.

This is a lesson passed on to her daughter Kendra, who is growing up to be a passionate young woman. Raised by an empowered mom, Kendra believes that in every endeavor she has, the only validation she should value is hers and hers alone. “I don’t get validation from the outside world, it’s a constant reminder. I know that the Lord has blessed me with talents, capabilities, and opportunities and how my parents have treated me with, which is in love and respect. I get my self-worth from my family and from what the Lord has blessed me with,” Kendra affirms.

The mother-daughter bond is a connection that is uniquely crafted through mutual respect, kinship, and empowerment in celebrating each other’s individuality. It is for this very reason that brands like Lactacyd exist. They recognize the importance of being confident in one’s skin, and they work to support both mothers and daughters in their quest to acknowledge their individuality, helping them thrive and bring out their best selves. “For you to be able to take care of yourself and ensure that you are clean and protected, you need to use brands that you can rely on to help you,” said Chesca. “Brands like Lactacyd are one with women to be intentional with their causes and advocacies. Just like how we mothers should be intentional in raising our daughters to be empowered, strong, confident, and purposeful women.”
